Mac OS X - Install Virtual Mac OS X into VMware Fusion 5


Having a Virtual OS X is useful particularly for trying out new software or settings without affecting the actual   OS. We need VMware Fusion (Google Search) and Mac OS X Mountain Lion image (Google Search) for this purpose.

1) Install VMware Fusion 5.

2) Go to menu File/New.

3) In the New Virtual Machine Assistant, Select Continue without disc.


4) Next, select Use operating system installation disc or image:
(Browse for the location of OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion .dmg)


Select Continue.


5) Select the appropriate Operating System and Version. Continue.



6) Confirm the settings. Click Finish.



7) Set the file name and file location for the Virtual Machine.


8) Start the Mac OS X Virtual Machine


9) Pre-installation will take some time.


10) Set the main language for the Mac OS X.


11) Select Reinstall OS X.


12) Confirm the Installation Setup process.


13) Agree to the terms of the software license agreement.



14) Select the disk where you want to install OS X.


15) Hard Disk preparation will take place and computer will be restarted.


16) Computer restarts and OS X is installed to the Hard Disk approximately in 21 minutes time.


17) Install Succeeded. Your computer must restart to complete the installation.


18) The computer restarts. During the first time running, user needs to set the initial settings. Select the country.



19) Select Keyboard Layout.


20) Transfer information from another PC. You may select Not Now.


21) Setup the iCloud. You may skip this step.






22) Create the computer user account.


23) Select appropriate time zone.


24) Your Mac is set up and ready to use.
